Hello !!!
How are you ?
Well well well, first of all, happy Birthday, Emilie, vocals of Indeed and my wife !!!!!!!!! Thanks a lot for giving me the opportunity to meet the kindest person of the world !
Secondly, this blog is 2 years old now and to celebrate these two birthdays, some local and international stuff during three days !
Begin with : Act local think global ! Act Indeed , think Madness !
The story of a cover...Close friends, wife and I, as a band, as
Indeed, as fans of Madness, did our best to do a cover of the Sun and the Rain that JP , boss of the french M.I.S and Jérôme from Big 8 Records liked.
Here is the story of a cover...rewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwind...

2008, a year for a nice project, a tribute to Madness by JP and Jérôme to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Camden cowboys the year after ....
We decided to try to participate and did a first selection of songs to cover : I loved to play "Mad not Mad" and "Blue skinned beast" on piano, Victoria Gardens on acoustic guitar with Emilie on vocals ; Alex, our guitar player did a nice acoustic demo of "Song in Red",.... have a listen to it
ICI...,he loves Mad not Mad Mad songs too , Emilie on vocals particulary loves "Lee Thompson songs" and Nico our drummer really loves "Keep Moving" LP .... We all agreed that "the sun and the rain" era was a beloved one by all of us so we plan to do "the sun and the rain" cover !!
On summer and fall 2008, we rehearsed some times and did several takes at home (ours) ... we decided to see what the 12" mix can bring us ! And it did a lot : especially on the Violin line on the chorus that we reproduce on piano! A very loved violin line !!! It helped us doing a cover which is not a copy. And as we hadn't a rehearsal room anymore, at first, we try it at our home ( Emilie and I): upright piano, acoustic guitar , vocals without microphone ... : acoustic , acoustic and acoustic and, at last, as Sir J. Young very nicely said, "Atmospheric...Atmospheric... Changes"
Alex and Nico spent time and time to do a sweet atmosphere with guitar and bongos..
For me, the piano lines came naturally in mind and made us remember late rain drops. The natural atmosphere of the cover let us think about a "after rain" moment
Emilie whistled the synth/violin line with an echo effect.
In fact for this cover, everything came naturally which went well !
On december 2008, we recorded it at Alex home, in his dinner room, playing electronic piano (property of Alex's wife), acoustic, electric guitars an bass, microphone, bongos and cymbals ! A night and a day...
Feb 2009 was a great moment as we knew that we were on the Tribute LP !!!
Here you can have a listen of 2 rough initial demo versions of our cover ( rough live and "intensified" recorded on a USB key at my home) and at last 30 seconds of the final version... which is on the Madness Tribute LP....
HERE THERE and
EVERYWHEREAt the same time, we decided to try "
Yesterday's Men " too....
Rough live recording via USB key too
....at last Listen to Suggs telling very nice words about our band at Madstock 2009 !!!! :
SUGGS ON INDEED eh eh eh ....
